RE: TRAVEL IN AND THROUGH VANCOUVER – FEBRUARY 5 – MARCH 21, 2010

As you are aware during the Olympic period February 12 – March 21, 2010 enhanced security is taking place for all passengers travelling out of or through the Vancouver terminal. This is necessary and reflects the enhanced level of security being put into place by all transportation providers for this important event.

It is also reflective of Greyhounds primary objective in ensuring the safety and security of its travelling customers. Therefore during this period all passengers will be required to produce picture identification in order to purchase a ticket.

There will however be exceptional circumstances where young persons may not possess formal identification. In these cases it will be necessary for ticket agents or security guards to consider other forms of identification to the equivalent standard. In cases of young persons this may be identification by a parent. In the absence of credible identification the young persons booking shall be declined until their identity can be proven. The agent must be completely satisfied that a person’s identity has been established. Details of the proof supplied should be written on the driver’s portion of the ticket and the agent must also sign the ticket.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation during these events.

Sincerely,

Stephen Hutchings
